How I drove traffic away from my blog...!
Now! As I had been there and done it all types and am an expert in driving away the traffic from my blog, I want to share how I single handed drove the masses away from my blog... a few simple facts but really effective means of driving away the traffic from your blog...
0 - 10 blunders I made:
Cero: I started to think of blog as my space and do whatever I wanted. Right from picking a skin, with Shakespeare's photo on it, with a black background and green font... Adding to that, I gave a small list of people which included lists of my family, friend and pets to whom I dedicated my blog.
Uno: I loved music and I selected a few tracks I loved and started to play it auto... When people visited my blog the music will be on full blast and unfortunately a few of my friends who were in their workplace, had to hide an embarrassed look and till today I am not able to bring those followers back to my blog.
Dos: Adding google ads, a big chimpanzee dominated my page and grinned at people who visited my blog..."mail chimp" though an assistant, a definite put off on visitiors.
Tres: Dowdy template with dowdier fonts... Though I thought it was innovative to have different fonts for different posts, the blog looked like a circus ring with crazy fonts, crazier glitters and put a disgusting look on those who accidently bumped in to my blog...
Cuatro: My first post was to thank Muse... My readers thought that either I don't know how to write or Muse did the writing. So, they started to hunt for Muse's own blog and stopped coming to mine
Cinco: Long posts that ran for pages, with no proper punctuation marks and full of compound sentences and jumping from one incident from another and all of a sudden turned to jump back to the first incident.. I understood alright but the poor folks who read my post were as confused as a hungry baby in a topless bar...
Seis: 8 out of 10 posts were about love.... in that 7 posts would be poetry. My passion was towards poetry and I loved poetry and named my blog as "poetry my passion". Felt it was justified to write just poetry as labelled my blog under poetry. I kept telling myself that I wrote for my pleasure alone and my blog is my space... Only that later I realised, it was too cold and lonely out there at my blog, with out visitors. When I went back and read my poetry, I felt that they sounded like coz I made sure it rhymed at the ends...
Siete: Wrote a long story about me, my family dating back to great grand parents and about my son's grade and a photograph of a lovely little rose. Who the hell wants to see a flower and a dowdy autobiography in "about me"...
Ocho: Had no idea on what RSS feed was and disabled it and also turned off the comment section...
Nueve: Not even an inch was wasted in my blog... I placed so many badges in myriad of colours and it used to hit the eyes of the readers and they bookmarked my blog and made sure not to visit the blog again.
Diez: For safety reasons, I hid my blog and chose a few ?privileged members and invited them to read my blog. Don't ask me why I hid my blog. It was for safety reasons.. I didn't want people to steal my chimp and red rose photograph... My thought could have been what if people can trace me by my name and trace my work place and kidnap me and demand ransom to release me and I was more worried what if my family refuse to pay the ransom?
I listed only up to 10 coz my Spanish is limited to these 10 numbers and I don't want my current set of followers to comment, listing this post as one of the reasons on how I drive the traffic away...

I am taking this as a compliment, Prem :D Thanks for the read and leaving your comment... your first comment in my blog!
I do not think your blog ever drove traffic away! People still read your posts, I guess its just that they do not post comments (people like me!) We still want more, Viji!
@nami :) nice of you... will give you more...
Viji and Manoj, You want me to try the little bit of spanish, french and german that I learnt before 3 years and forgot over the last 2 years? he he. Anyway, good post Viji. Thanks for educating the users on these tools and techniques ;)
@kiran... missed you :) why can't you comment every post of mine??? thanks a bunch...probably open up your blog again for us and feel free to use your "little bit of spanish, french and german" quite a multilinguist aren't we?
As usual, enjoyed the humour in your post, Viji.
I think you should think of writing an article which says 'How I attract readers to my blog'.. Some samples may be constant updates, humourous posts, having a blog link of others etc..
Viji, I enjoy visiting your blog and reading your humourous articles.
